Meet the 2016 teachers: Chris – Ballet

Next up we would like introduce one of our new ballet teachers – the talented Chris Olwage, better known as the Black Swan for his television debut as a male dancer en-pointe.

Chris is a seasoned International Performing Artist. He has a BA in Perf.Arts with a major in Contemporary Dance, he has trained under Kimbrian Bergh and Sharene Griggs and was the recipient of a Ballet Scholarship to a Summer School Ballet Intensive under Timothy Gordon.

Chris has performed on 6 Continents and for some big International festivals (World Pride, Toronto 2014, Rugby World Cup Opening Ceremony, Auckland, 2009, and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, 2014).

Chris will be teaching on Thursday evenings with Ballet Beginner at 5.30pm and Ballet Intermediate at 6.30pm. Welcome to the team, Chris!

Meet the 2016 teachers: Julie – Jazz, Contemporary, Neo Classical, Broadway, DanceFit

The next teacher needs no introduction – the uber talented Julie Anterrieu.

Julie took her first jazz class at age seven in her native South of France and has been dancing ever since. Trained in jazz, contemporary, Horton technique and ballet she has followed a Master degree in contemporary dance in Paris and completed a choreographers program in New York. Julie has been teaching jazz styles and contemporary dance in Auckland for the past 9 years, and is the artistic director of Pineapple Productions Dance Company specializing in vintage jazz and French entertainment.

Her classes are designed to share her passion for anything dance, combining carefully structured technical exercises and original choreographies.

Julie will be teaching:

Monday
Contemporary Beginners at 5.30pm
Neo Classical at 7.30pm

Tuesday
Jazz Ballet Intermediate at 5.30pm
Contemporary Intermediate at 6.30pm

Wednesday
DanceFit at 6.30pm

Thursday
Jazz Beginners at 6.30pm

Saturday
Jazz advanced (90mins) 9am
Broadway 10.30am

Look out for her alter ego – Coney Bow and her Burlesquercise classes on Monday, Thursday and Saturday
